Statement of Beliefs

  1. GOD
God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: The Father, The Son, and  The Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Genisis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:12; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14
  2. JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the son of God. He is coequal with The Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13
  3. HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with The Father and The Son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every Christian a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to love under his control daily. 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18
  4.  THE BIBLE
The bible is God’s word to us. It is written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of The Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspires it, the bible is the truth without any mixture of error. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 30:5
  5. HUMAN BEINGS
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience towards God. This is called sin. Sin separates people from God and causes all problems in life. Genisis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6, 59:1-2; Romans 3:23
  6. SALVATION
Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Titus 3:5
  7. THE CHURCH
The church is made up of people who have been made right with God through faith in Jesus Christ. This is the body of Christ and Christ in the head of his church. The New Testament refers to the church in three different ways. First, as the worldwide body of Christ. Second, as a group of Christians in a specific region. Third, as a small group of Christians in a local area. Matthew 16:15-19; Acts 2:41-47; Romans 16:4; Galatians 1:2; Ephesians 1:22-23
  8. ETERNITY
People were created to live forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God or eternally with God. To be separated from God is Hell. To be with God is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. John 3:16, 14:17; Romans 6:23, 8:17-18; 1 Corinthians 2:7-9; Revelation 20:15
  9. STEWARDSHIP
God is the source of all blessings and all we have is his. God has placed us as stewards of his possessions. We are to serve God with our time, talents, and material possessions, giving what we have to build God’s Kingdom and to help others. Malachi 3:8-12; Matthew 23:23; Acts 2:44-47; 2 Corinthians 8-9
  10. FAMILY
God created the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman. Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and lead them to a consistent lifestyle based on biblical truth. Genisis 1:26-28; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Matthew 19:3-9; 1 Corinthians 7; Ephesians 5:21-6:4
